Historical Note

William G. Bragdon, from Massachusetts, served in the United States Army, 23rd Infantry Regiment, during the Civil War.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of papers from William G. Bragdon's family. Most of the letters are written from William J. Bragdon to his brother from New Bern, North Carolina and later from Army camps in which he is stationed. Additionally, there is a letter from "Mother" to Ed, a poem for a funeral, and various printed material.
