Historical Note

Carson McCullers (1917-1967) was an author from Columbus, Georgia. She is considered to be among the most significant American writers of the 20th Century, best known for her novels The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, The Ballad of the Sad Cafe, Reflections in a Golden Eye, and The Member of the Wedding. Scope and Content

The collection consists of photographs of Carson McCullers and the correspondence of Marielle Bancou, much of it from Carson McCullers.
