Historical Note

Tracy Lee Housel, a British national, was sentenced to the death penalty in 1986 for the murder of Jeanne Drew of Gwinnett County, Georgia, following a violent crime spree across several states. He was executed in the state of Georgia by lethal injection in March 2002.

Jan Burden was his correspondent and collected letters to and from him and clippings regarding Housel's case.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of clippings and correspondence between Jan Burden and Georgia Death Row inmate Tracy Housel from 2000 to 2002.
