Biographical/Historical Note

Isadora Duncan (1877-1927) is widely considered to have been the creator of modern dance. Jordan Massee has collected information documenting her to create this collection.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of papers, book excerpts, clippings, events, organizations, and photographs relating to Isadora Duncan. There is biographical material, dance studies, artistic evaluation, and other tangential dance subjects that relate back to Duncan's work. The collection also follows the Isadorables and 3rd generation Duncan dancers like Lori Belilove. Jordan Massee's correspondence within this collection mainly consists of him seeking more information related to Isadora Duncan.
