M. Hapenny was a shipper on the Satilla River in Georgia.

Albert Adams Cobb was the son of Henry and Augusta Cobb. He operated the Albert A. Cobb & Company based in Boston, Massachusetts in the late 1800s.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of three letters regarding the weather, and Hapenny's work environment and vessel. Two letters are dated October 4 and October 18, 1868, Satilla River, and the third letter is dated November 15, 1868, Savannah. Transcripts of the letters are included in the collection.
