Historical Note

Erskine Caldwell (1903-1987) was born in White Oak, Georgia, and died in Paradise Valley, Arizona. He was an American author, most famous for his books about the South that centered on issues of poverty, racism, and social issues. He wrote God's Little Acre and Tobacco Road. Scope and Content

The collection consists of photographs, posters, certificates, a copy of the page proof of "In search of Bisco" (1965), article and newspaper clippings, and varied correspondence.
