Scope and Content

The collection consists of papers of Lucius J. Gartrell from 1848-1884: Gartrell's license to practice law (1848); commission to the U.S. House of Representatives (1859); correspondences regarding Gartrell's arrest signed by members of the 7th Georgia Infantry Regiment who support his reinstatement; a letter signed "W. L. Hubbard" regarding the election of officers in the 7th Regiment; a letter accepting Gartrell's resignation.
