Historical Note

Charles C. Cox was the son of I. F. Cox, president of Southern Female College in La Grange, Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of one letter dated Clarkesville, July 30, 1883, addressed to "Henry" from Charles C. Cox. Cox writes about Mercer and Wesleyan commencements and other facts interesting to two young men of that day. Written on the Southern Female College's lithographed stationery, Cox informs his friend that he is to "teach with father."
