Thomas Hubbard McHatton (1883-1956), Georgia horticulturist, president of the National Pecan Grower's Association, and Head of the Horticulture Dept. at the University of Georgia (Athens, Ga.).

Scope and Content

The collection consists of papers of Thomas Hubbard McHatton from 1899-1933. Includes correspondence, printed material, photographs, drawings, and ephemera. Contains mainly material relating to McHatton's interest in the cultivation of pecan trees and his association with the National Pecan Grower's Association. Records relating to the Association include correspondence (1927) of John Byron Wight and a 47-page history of the organization. Also includes printed material relating to Spring Hill College located in Mobile, Alabama.
