Historical Note

Thomas Waldrep Clements is an activist focusing on nuclear issues. He was born in Savannah, Georgia, and obtained a Masters in Forest Resources in 1977 from the University of Georgia. Clements is currently the director of Savannah River Site Watch, and has worked with organizations such as Greenpeace International, the Nuclear Control Institute, the Alliance for Nuclear Accountability, Friends of the Earth, and the South Carolina Chapter of the Sierra Club. In 2010, Clements ran for the U.S. Senate with the Green Party and obtained about 10% of the vote, the highest percentage of votes out of any other third-party federal candidate.
