Biographical/historical note
The Ferdinand Phinizy Lectureship was established and endowed by Phinizy Calhoun, UGA class of 1900, as a memorial to his grandfather, Ferdinand Phinizy, who graduated from the University in 1838. The series brings gifted writers to campus as Phinizy Lecturers.
Scope and Content
The Phinizy Lectureship records (1956-1999) consist of materials related to the UGA lecture series such as a scrapbook and correspondence. The collection also includes information about the Phinizy family.
