The collection consists of two commonplace books (undated) belonging to Marion Heard. The books contain handwritten words to many popular songs of the day and some very obscure and perhaps locally written songs. An index is located in the back of the first volume listing such titles of "Carolina & Georgia Boys," "Green Old Hills," and "Sailor Boys Carol."

The collection consists of one bound commonplace book (undated) containing a handwritten index of categories of legal points and methods. Listed are cases, legal precedents, and other points of law to correspond to the categories of interest. The volume is not fully detailed in each area, but does give a considerable amount of information on the legal system operable in Georgia during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

The collection consists of a commonplace book filled with handwritten pages of poetry, recipes, some accounts, and lists of students at Mr. Booth's Seminary. Different styles of handwriting indicate more than one writer. According to the first page, the book possibly belonged to E. Grant and was titled "Book of extracts."
